A medication used to treat menstrual and menopausal disorders by compensating for estrogen deficiency, thereby reducing hot flashes, vaginal dryness, and irregular menstruation.
Indications:
- Used as a treatment to compensate for the deficiency of estrogen and progesterone in the body.
- Reduce menstrual disorders.
- Regulate the menstrual cycle.
- Reduce the incidence of uterine cancer.
- Improve symptoms associated with menopause.
Main Active Ingredients:
- Estradiol Valerate 2 mg.
- Norgestrel 0.5 mg.
Precautions:
- Not to be used as a contraceptive.
- Contraindicated in patients with risk factors for cancer.
- Should not be used in cases of blood-clotting disorders.
- Avoid use if there are risk factors for angina and thrombosis.
- Not to be used in cases of endometriosis, fibroids, high blood pressure, or diabetes.
Side Effects:
- Chest pain radiating to the arm or neck.
- Sudden numbness or confusion.
- Difficulty breathing.
- Sudden pain and swelling in the leg.
- Severe or persistent headache.
Drug-Drug Interactions:
- Interferes with epilepsy medications (such as Phenytoin, Phenobarbital).
- Interacts with antibiotics (such as Rifampicin, Rifabutin).
- Interacts with protease inhibitors used for HIV treatment.
- May interact with herbal preparations containing St. John’s Wort.
- May interfere with diabetes treatment medications (such as Insulin).
