A long-acting insulin injection is used to control high blood sugar by providing steady basal insulin coverage over a 24-hour period.

Indications:
- Management of diabetes mellitus in adults.
- Management of diabetes mellitus in adolescents and children aged 1 year and older.
- Use as basal insulin in combination with rapid-acting insulin or oral antidiabetic medications when required.

Main Active Ingredient:
- Insulin Degludec 100 IU/mL.

Precautions:
- Do not use if allergic to insulin degludec or any other ingredients.
- Monitor blood sugar regularly to avoid hypoglycemia or hyperglycemia.
- Rotate injection sites to prevent lipodystrophy or skin changes.
- Ensure correct insulin type and strength before injection to avoid accidental mix-ups.
- Use only as a subcutaneous injection; do not inject intravenously or intramuscularly.
- Store pens in the refrigerator before opening (2°C–8°C) and do not freeze.
- Keep out of reach of children and do not share pens with others.

Side Effects:
- Low blood sugar (hypoglycemia).
- Injection site reactions, including lumps or pitting.
- Allergic reactions (rash, swelling, or difficulty breathing).
- Vision problems or diabetic retinopathy.
- Swollen joints and painful neuropathy.

Drug-Drug Interactions:
- Blood sugar may be lowered if taken with other diabetes medicines, depression medications, blood pressure drugs, certain heart medications, pain relievers, or fertility treatments.
- Blood sugar may rise if taken with birth control, fluid retention medicines, thyroid treatments, asthma drugs, or growth medications.
- Inform your doctor of all medications, including OTC and supplements.
